Those Eligible for Defense Ministry Benefits

The Rehabilitation Branch of the Defense Ministry is the professional body that determines what type of vehicle the disabled person should receive and with which accessories installed.

The Procurement Administration is the body that chooses the accessorizing company, which must meet all relevant Defense Ministry criteria. Be Free meets all the ministry’s very stringent requirements and is an authorized supplier.

Eligibility for NII Mobility Benefits

A person is eligible for NII mobility benefits if his mobility is limited, as defined by the Health Ministry, and he meets a number of conditions:

A. He is an Israeli resident living in Israel, and is between three years old and retirement age. (The NII approves a mobility allowance for two or more siblings, each of whom have been given an 80% limited mobility rating and live in the same house, even if they are not yet three years old.) A person who received a mobility allowance before reaching retirement age can have it extended beyond retirement age, subject to the conditions in the Mobility Agreement.

B. A Health Ministry medical committee or medical appeals committee has set a limited mobility percentage for the person as a result of a disability in his legs, as per a list of defined disabilities.
More information about submitting a claim to medical committees or to the vehicle size committee, about loans to buy a vehicle, or reimbursement for purchasing and installing accessories can be found on the NII website. We will be happy to help with the various procedures, drawing on our years of experience. Our help includes the submission of claims, accompaniment to the various committees, submitting objections and appeals, legal advice, choosing and purchasing a vehicle and other related issues. You are invited to contact us for advice and guidance at anytime, free of charge.
